Hi, I’m Cannabanana but you can call me Anna for short. My mom (Dondi | Two Twisted Girls) and I will be taking over this platform to share canna-infused recipes, deliver weekly cooking and wellness hacks, and feature a vast array of input and content from other trusted canna-preneurs.
Before we get started, I’d like to tell you a little bit about us. My mom has always been my very best friend. For as long as I can remember we’ve been by each other’s sides, so when I moved to Denver in 2018 the distance between us was difficult to navigate. Missing my family and feeling uncertain about the current pandemic pushed my husband and I to make the move back to Oklahoma exactly 2 years later.
Leaving Colorado was hard, but coming home was easy. Little did I know, Oklahoma had plans for me.
While I was away mom had been hard at work building her own business, Two Twisted Girls, a company that makes medicated beer salt and flavored sugar that literally melts in your mouth (and melts your pain away). This medicine is vegan, diabetic friendly, full-spectrum, and in high demand so I immediately began assisting her with sales and distribution. In our free time, we were helping patients across the state apply for their medical marijuana cards.
We were traveling all over Oklahoma and doing what we loved, so it wasn’t long before we ran into James and immediately felt a connection with the Herbage brand. The idea of a blog and cooking show was something I had been trying to manifest for a long time, and Herbage gave us the platform to pursue just that. If you enjoy combining food and cannabis as much as we do, we think you’ll feel right at home here!
I’ve been vegan for 3 years, and one thing I’ve learned since making the switch is that you find so many surprising new options when you take the focus off of animal products. And while I respect everyone’s individual dietary choices (at the end of the day, only you know what’s best for your body, schedule, lifestyle, etc.), I think that incorporating more plant-based whole foods into our meals could benefit each and every one of us.
The majority of my recipes are easily adaptable if you choose to include meat or dairy products in them, so don’t hesitate to experiment and find your own style! The point of this platform is to broaden your horizons, not restrict them.
