3 INFUSED TEQUILA COCKTAILS

Cinco de Mayo is widely observed in the US as a way to celebrate Mexican culture and heritage. In the spirit of the holiday, as well as the quickly approaching warm weather, I thought we’d share three of our family’s favorite tequila cocktails, the Paloma, Tequila Sunrise, and a classic Margarita… with a twist.

Pick one of the three different methods of infusion that we’ve used, or if you’re brave, use all three! Either way, you can’t go wrong with these highly medicated sweet drinks. For a virgin option, use sparkling water or a non-alcoholic seltzer in place of tequila.

Tequila Paloma

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz infused tequila
  • 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 2 oz grapefruit flavored Topo Chico
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1/4-1/2 oz infused sweet & sour syrup
  • optional: Two Twisted Girls’ Infused Sugar and Lemon Lime Beer Salt

Instructions:

  • Rim your glass with lime juice and a 1:1 mixture of infused sugar and beer salt.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add remaining ingredients. Shake it up and serve over ice.

Tequila Sunrise

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz infused tequila
  • 2-3 oz orange juice
  • splash of infused pomegranate syrup (or grenadine)

Instructions:

  • Fill a large glass with ice. Add tequila and orange juice. Drizzle syrup or grenadine over the top and serve. *Try not to stir it!

Classic Infused Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz infused tequila
  • 1/2 oz cointreau, or orange liqueur
  • 1/4-1/2 oz infused sweet & sour syrup
  • optional: Two Twisted Girls’ Infused Sugar & Lemon Lime Beer Salt

Instructions:

  • Rim a margarita glass with lime juice and a 1:1 mixture of infused sugar and beer salt.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with glass and add remaining ingredients. Shake it up and serve over ice, or throw it in the blender for a frozen twist.
